Our Story
OPHID is a Zimbabwean non-governmental organization (NGO) that seeks to innovate, lead and implement public health programs and services locally, across the African region and beyond.
Established as a local Trust in 2001, OPHID has over 20 years’ experience in providing technical support to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in Zimbabwe to implement quality and efficient health care services and development initiatives for diverse population groups, at public health facilities nationwide.

To strengthen health and development systems by working collaboratively with Government, communities and other key partners to develop and support relevant, sound, and sustainable public health policies and practices.
Central to achieving our mission of improving public health and quality of life of all Zimbabweans and across sub-Saharan Africa is pushing boundaries and building ‘next level’ systems, strategies and evidence-generation capacities within the communities, local organizations and health systems we support.
