Definate Nhamo
Ms Definate Nhamo has spent over two decades working on increasing access to Sexual Reproductive Health services (SRH) and facilitating HIV/AIDS care and treatment to female adolescents in Zimbabwe in both research and program delivery settings. Definate works in Implementation Science research and has been instrumental in working with HIV prevention product developers in increasing access to more HIV prevention options to those who need them the most. She was the 2014 AVAC fellow for Zimbabwe and her work continued to focus on improving SRH access to young women including HIV prevention technologies. She is very passionate about improving SRH access as well as increasing new HIV prevention technologies’ (oral PrEP, vaginal rings and injectables) access to young women. She is involved in the Global Fund and PEPFAR processes in Zimbabwe. She is a member of the HPTN scientific committee and is passionate about scaling up proven interventions from research to roll out, works in HIV prevention policy advocacy. Definate is a PhD candidate working on the development of a PrEP adherence intervention. She holds an MSc in Strategic Management and a BA hons in Sociology.
